European Championships

The INTA would like to wish the Irish team the very best of luck for the European Championships taking place in Motherwell, Scotland this weekend.

Pictured here is Master Val Douglas presenting Mrs Aisling Tallon with a gift for her hard work as PRO for the INTA over the past two years. Aisling offered her expertise and knowledge to assist the INTA in the development and promotion of a number of strategies. The INTA are very appreciative of the time Aisling devoted to the INTA and wish her the very best.

Umpire Report September

The INTA Umpire Committee consisting of Mr Nigel Stobie VI & Mr Dave Elson IV conducted the last Umpire Course of 2015 on September 5th & 6th. The Course was held in Portarlington Taekwon-Do Schools full time centre.
The Course attracted 21 participants from 9 INTA schools from across the country. This followed the success of the previous courses throughout the year. Such high participation outlining the dedication of experienced INTA referees and promotion of newly trained umpires in the INTA ranks.

umpires2015.jpg The course focused on training experienced umpires and newly qualified umpires in accordance with ITF official rules used in both World and European ITF events. With the upcoming INTA National Championships around the corner, the course was a major success in ensuring the highest standard of ITF officiation are maintained in INTA events.

Report from Summer Camp in Greece

A group of INTA members from IFSC and Rush taekwon-do club recently attended the annual taekwon-do summer camp in Olympos, Greece which was hosted by Master Vasilis Alexandris 8th degree.

We flew into Thessaloniki in the northern Greece region of Macedonia and arrived Monday evening at the Olympos camp site on the beautiful Aegean coast on the edge of Mount Olympos where reputedly the Ancient Greek Gods resided.

Training commenced Tuesday morning at 7.45am (which is 5.45am Irish time) so there were  a few sleepy heads but all our members arrived on time and fortunately Master Alexandris  started with a light class of fundamental techniques to warm us up for the gruelling week ahead.
