Carl McGrath


Contratulations to INTA student Carl McGrath on winning the ISKA US Open at the weekend in Orlando, Folorida.

Carl had three tough bouts to secure the win. He also finished second in the points fighting division, scoring maximum points in his first three bouts before losing narrowly to his american opponent by 6 points to 5.

Summer Blackbelt Grading

2.jpg The Irish National Taekwon-Do Association (INTA) held our 2016 black belt summer grading on Sunday the 12th June in City West Hotel, Dublin.  The grading was divided into two groups, those presenting for 1st degree and those for 2nd degree and above. 

The 1st degree examiner panel was chaired by Master Terry Donnelly (VII) with Mr. Christy Fagan, Mr. Matthew Troy, Mr. Raymond Connor and Ms. Lenka Marsikova making up the rest of the panel members.  The panel grading those for higher degrees consisted of Master Brendan O’Toole (chair), Master Val Douglas and Master Gerry Martin.

Irish National Taekwon-Do Assocation hosts the 17th INTA ITF International Open

The INTA under the leadership of Master Brendan O'Toole (VIII) were delighted to host their 17th ITF International Open in the National Basketball Arena, County Dublin.

The flagship event, which attracts a variety  of international competitors was run over two days and incorporated a sections for patterns, sparring, special  technique and destruction.  Members from all over the country as well as visiting teams from Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and  Belgium took part in the 2 day tournament.
This year the INTA were delighted to welcome 12 Masters as special  guest and were honoured that Grand Master Paul Weiler, Senior Vice President of the International Taekwon-  Do Federation and a pioneer for Taekwon-Do in Afric was able to attend.Also in attendance was Mrs Annick  Van Dressiche, President of ITF Belgium and Mr Leo Maguire from Northern Ireland.
