Master Gerry Martin VIII Degree

Born 1958 in Dublin, Gerard Martin started training in Taekwon-Do in 1975. He Received his I Degree Black Belt in 1979. Like Master O'Toole, Master Martin has had a long and successful career competing in top national and international arenas.
His successes include World Championship Team Gold Medal, individual World Championship Gold Medal for breaking. He has earned the reputation of being one of Ireland's most complete martial artists, with the skill, patience, manner and disposition that have made him the highly respected instructor he is today.
1977 | Dublin Championships Blue Belt 1st Patterns, 1st Power, 3rd Sparring. |
1979 | Received 1st Dan Black Belt under Master Rhee Ki Ha. |
1980 | Participated in European Championships in Crystal Palace. Irish Team Member. |
1981 |
Participated in World Championships in Argentina. Member of Irish team which won GOLD in Team Patterns, SILVER in Team Power, and BRONZE in Team Sparring, and were overall World Champions. |
1982 |
Participated in European Championships in Naples, Italy. Member of Irish Team which won GOLD in Team Pattern, SILVER in Team Power. |
1983 | Participated in Master Cho's L.A Open in Beverly Hills High School Gym. Member of Irish Team which fought the American Team. National Stadium Dublin Open, member of the Irish Team, Ireland versus England. |
1984 |
Participated in World Championships in Glasgow. Irish Team Captain. Winner of individual GOLD in Power Test. |
1985 | Coach to Dublin team which won the Irish Colour Belt Team Championships in Waterford. |
1986 |
Received 3rd Dan Black Belt. |
1987 |
Received Diploma in Exercise and Fitness Instruction in UCD. |
1988 |
Participated in First Open World Tae Kwon Do Championships in Leicester, England. |
1989 | Received 4th Dan Black Belt. |
1990 |
Launch of the Irish National Tae Kwon Do Association (I.N.T.A). V.I.P. guests were Councillor Michael Donnelly Lord Mayor of Dublin and Miss Ireland Siobhan McClafferty. |
1991 |
Coach to I.N.T.A. Team which won two BRONZE medals and Overall Best Technique Award at the European Open Championships in Germany. |
1992 | Received International Taekwon-Do Instructor Certificate from I.T.F. Attended International Seminar given by Grandmaster Choi Hong Hi. |
1995 2009 |
Received 5th Dan Black Belt under Grandmaster Choi Hong Hi. Received VII Master at IIC Benidorm |
